If you have senior who is just not super excited about having a senior portrait session, just book a family portrait session and sneak in a few solo shots! This family headed up to Western Michigan's east campus for some evening fall light at Heritage Hall. We got some beautiful fall color!

Downtown Kalamazoo is home to some of my favorite spots for senior portraits. I love to wander and find new gems- but one of my favorites, believe it or not, is in a small corner behind a large dumpster in an alley. Don't as me how I found it but it continues to deliver some of the best images time after time!
Phil chose Milham Park in Kalamazoo for his fall senior portait session! We got rained out our first try and got a beautiful sunshine-filled morning the next time around. What luck! Phil's outfit selection + style were just golden and fit with the autumn setting perfectly. I love that he dressed in layers (and I'm sure he did as well since it was pretty chilly that morning)! Layers give lots of color and texture to his looks and his choices were just, *chef's kiss*.
For JJ's senior portraits we explored the outdoor setting at his home and hit up the beautiful nature preserve, Bow in the Clouds! There's something very sweet about being able to look back on your senior portraits from the house and property you grew up on. JJ was probably the easiest model I've had this season. He said he didn't love having his photo taken, but knew exactly what he was doing once we got going!
This is my third year photographing this family and I am *so* grateful to see these sweet girls grow! We typically book a winter session but last year's chill was a little much so we snuck a fall session in at Kleinstuck Preserve!
