We highly recommend Erin Susanne Photography. We were very impressed with our son's senior pictures by Erin. So we chose to have her take our family portrait. Erin has a keen eye for settings and captures expressions well. We love that she was able to photograph our dog with us! |
Family Portrait Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What if my kiddos aren't really the "sit and pose for a photo" type of kiddos? Can we make this work?
Answer: I personally haven't met many "sit and pose for a photo" kiddos and my sessions are designed to be playful! Think of it more as a family date with plenty of focus on playing together and snuggling up so I can capture some genuine moments. I typically suggest we hit up a local nature park or preserve and explore it a little for families with toddlers on up. I am also happy to visit your backyard or home with you for more of a cozy at-home lifestyle session (especially if you have a newborn). Finally, we can rent out a beautiful studio in Kalamazoo for an additional $40 fee if indoors (and not at your home) is more your style.
Q: Since we usually book a session at an outdoor location, what about bad weather?
Answer: I keep an eye on the weather in the days leading up to your session and you will know the morning-of if it's looking like we need to reschedule. Your deposit moves with you to your new date. Sunshine, clouds, and even overcast are all do-able. Rainy and (windy) snow is a no-go. For newborn in-home sessions or in-studio sessions, we don't need to worry about weather.
Another Answer: We can rent a beautiful little studio in Kalamazoo for your session if you would prefer it. There is an additional $40 fee, which covers an hour of renting the studio.
Q: How will I get my images?
Answer: Within about a week or so of your session, I'll post a preview blog post on my website so you can see a few sample images. You can opt out of this if you wish, but most families see it as a nice way to share your preview with family/friends as you wait for your full gallery. Within about three weeks of your session, I'll send you a personalized online gallery with plenty of image options for you. This private gallery will allow you to download a certain number of images for free (the number that comes with your package). If you decide you like and want more than the images you receive for free, you can always choose to buy more of your digital images and/or order more in prints. Once you download your images, you can share them, save them, and even print them on your own. You will receive a personal use copyright agreement so you can print your pictures anywhere.
Q: Do the sessions come with printed products? What does the print credit mean?
Answer: Your session fee covers the time we spend together, a certain number of high-resolution digital downloads, and a print credit for you to use in your online gallery shop to order printed products. That way you only order what you want! I do not require you to order printed products from me, but since you have a print credit to get you started, most folks tend to use that, at minimum, for ordering products. That print credit comes to you in the form of a coupon code and you can use it within the first 21 days of your gallery access. Families frequently order print packs, framed photos, canvases, or photo books of their favorite images. I provide you with a printed gallery guide once we finish your session so you know how to utilize the gallery, shop, and your print options.
