Golden hour in summer is a beautiful time for senior portraits. Here in Kalamazoo, one of my go-to spots for this type of session is at Asylum Lake Nature Preserve. We can head down to the lake for some varied scenery and then catch the best light on the way down and back up. If you're lucky, you might even get the moon to join you for your last few shots. Kenisha here is a Portage Central 2024 senior and my first of the senior portrait session of the season! Lucky for me we split her package into two sessions and I'll get to see her again this fall. Most often, seniors prefer that their photographer give them prompts and guidance as we go to capture their best looks. I'm all about it and find that you really loosen up and relax as we move through some prompts. For southwest Michigan seniors still searching for a senior photographer, look at your booking options with me! I have one last August session available and quite a few fall dates open.

I recently had the pleasure of photographing an extended family gathering along their family riverfront and farm in southwest Michigan. Let me tell you about how these kiddos are living my childhood dreams- surrounded by lots of family and having fun outdoors together! Fast forward to the end to see their mud adventures. We took lots of classic posed portraits of various groups together and ended up with lots of candid documentation of how fun it is to be in this family.
