A question I get asked a lot is when should I be booking my high school senior pictures? The answer is anytime between the late spring before your senior year (while you're still a Junior) all the way through the spring of your senior year right before graduation! Sometimes your high school will require you to submit a senior picture for the yearbook by mid-fall so be sure to check on their requirements ahead of time. Laya here opted for portraits right before graduation and I'm so glad she chose me to be her photographer! She was such a gem and so fun to work with. Her Deluxe Senior Portrait session had us visiting three locations: Riverview Launch, Downtown Kalamazoo, and Asylum Lake Nature Preserve.

Summer is my biggest season for extended family portraits, and for good reason! The weather is warm and everything is in bloom- a perfect time for cousins, grandparents, aunts, and uncles to gather close for some cozy family feels. This sweet family met up in Chelsea, MI for their session at Timber Town park!         Spring is in full swing and family portrait bookings have been rolling in! At Asylum Lake Nature Preserve you don't need to walk far to reach a little field full of golden rod, a small grove of trees, and an old growth forest. The whole property is 274 acres with two lakes as well as large savanna, prairie, and forest zones throughout- plenty to explore! For this extended family portrait session we stuck with a short walking distance and captured some gems of this sweet family together.   Graduation celebrations and commencements might look a little different these days, but finding ways to enjoy these big milestones is so important! Graduation portraits on campus (in that shiny cap and gown) are the perfect ending to such a significant chapter. Ryan Harrington came out to Western Michigan University's main campus for a little portrait session in Kalamazoo with his sweet wife and mom in tow to do just that!
