Lauren and Ryan brought out their sweet kiddos for a hike in the forest and we captured a few sweet moments! Kleinstuck Preserve in Kalamazoo is one of my favorites for families to explore together. There are so many opportunities to capture some candids of kids being kids and I think there's some evidence of that below!

I could go on and on about why Pilgrim Haven Natural Area is my go-to for family portraits in Southwest Michigan. The beautiful rocky beach, the creek, bridge, forest- it all provides the perfect backdrop for a little family fun. I love documenting families playing, snuggling, and exploring together for a more lifestyle-like selection of photos. Sam, Austin, Gunnar, and Briar came out for an afternoon of just that!
I'm diving back into my regular outdoor sessions again (loving this May weather) but I have one last studio family portrait session preview to share. I've known this family since I first moved to Kalamazoo. I answered a post for a babysitter and met the sweetest little baby (who slept so well, and tricked me into thinking all babies slept well). That baby is now a grown little human and it's wild. I was honored to capture Lucca, Carol, and Scott and am so excited to share a little preview now!
Another mama and kiddo duo for family portraits. I love when families remember that capturing those middle-grade years are just important as the early ones! Amelia and Tammy were so sweet and easy to photograph together. This is the second to last preview in my Kalamazoo studio mini sessions series! One more coming soon (featuring another middle-grade kiddo)!
Mother's Day feels like the perfect time to post this family portrait preview! These sweet girls came out for a mama & me photo session last weekend and I'm so happy to share a few. Sometimes it takes a moment for a toddler to warm up - that's where the emergency bubbles come in.
